After an unexpected downpour, a lonely boy becomes the savior of a very special fleet of snails.
softshell 🐌 is a stop-motion animation inspired by the rainy season, during which it seems like the world's entire hidden snail population is flushed out onto the streets. Soggy and distraught, the snails have to fend for themselves as pedestrians must watch where they step – or else.
I started drawing this project on August 14th, 2023, and completed animating and editing it on October 5th, 2023. There are 1,375 individual drawings in total.
